Waylaid at Whipsnade

Still waiting on the Car Park show - have been pestering them via email but they're yet to finalise anything. I would be free for a summit and curry any time between now and the 4th of December. Perhaps a Central News style review of 2007 with all the ups (drones, the rucksack man, chicken tawa, songs with Dave in the title) and downs (aging electronic musicians acting like 2 year olds, annoying compéres) of the musical year?

Claves of Dave

Good afternoon my sweet sweet humpbacks.

Any thoughts on the on Deutsche Bank eve? I'm sorry not to have been there but it was not to be, at least I finally got my drums tracks recorded for SchneiderTM/Lustfaust record.

I'm hoping we will get to play again before I head south for the winter. I'd love to break out the sp-555. Although navigating the instruction manual alone requires some kind of qualification (perhaps a GNVQ, advanced mind).

When would everyone be free for Ambient diagnostics and curry? I've only got a couple of gigs before I go and my rehearsal schedule looks suspiciously open. I suspect it will fill up with evenings spent individually wrapping my CDs (or Katy's ceramic oddities).

Any news on bringing culture to the carparks of the midlands? How about Liverpool?
I've also got some ideas of my own but I'll blerg them later.

tomorrow

is looking good.

the cv is looking good (makes us sound... all proper like)

The enormous Liverpudlian budget / Budgie of which Glenn speaks is looking good.

Tebadare is looking good (though I can't think of a time when he hasn't)

My new mint condition megadrive with six game cartridge and sonic 2 thrown in is looking good (Boulter. shall we fail to complete S2 by the narrowest of margins just before attempting the M1? It seemed to work in 99)

The mouth burning dumpling inspired set is looking, if not good, interesting at least.

Shame the weather's so rubbish.

Methodology:
Four pieces per set. Each piece will be assigned a small potato dumpling with a chili centre of varying intensity. Each performer will initiate a piece by consuming a dumpling. The degree of discomfort this affords him (on a scale of 1-8) will determine the next piece. Dave goes first.

Layered and lasered without cake

aurelites,

now that we are all here. let us... do whatever it is we do. and do so damn well. Liking the ideas re: DB. Perhaps an ode to anyone who has had their retina burned by misusing class 3R and 4 lasers? Or is that in poor taste.? particularly as I may, if I don't keep my eyes open (or DO keep them open), swell their brown spotted ranks.

Friday was sweet. Probly our best yet in range, depth and confidence. Though i still have to hear the md recording.

in other music news MBV are officially gigging in june. Tickets out tomorrow. eek. saw the manboy Shields being interviewed by an American Dwad in a tie who said things like. Have you noticed that, like, a record is called a RECORD?" and harped on about "historicisation" or some other pretentious Waffle. You're in the presence of a genius. Close your mouth, stop trying to show how clever and cool you are and let the man speak!

Ok. rant over

Bring on the Bankers!

waves of daves

Hello gentlemen.
Finally blog bound (thanks Glen). Although we will be scattered like seeds in the wind, at least we can whisper on it.

Just signed up for a studio/office space at the Canteen Media and Art Centre on Barrow island, Cumbria: www.canteenmaac.co.uk/
Lots of good facilities, so it should be perfect for a spot of recording, performing, submarine serenading, Emlyn Hughes worshipping etc.

A U R E L I E @ City Gallery

Just had a quick listen to the recording of last night's frontier-chicken inspired set - one of the best yet I think. There's lots of contrast between the pieces and the way the set was structured makes the whole thing sound really coherent. More than 'sufficient for anybody' I would say.
Next: Crescent crockery at the ready to serve up some generous layers of Dave at the Deutsche Bank.

An industrial apex perhaps?

City Gallery Show - Content

Can I suggest we have another go at Bloody Hands? Should sound good w/ drums and some added drones... (will listen to your disc re. this Frank)
Also would like to use refuse crusher recordings again as they sounded really tinny last time - perhaps over something quite melodic and slow?

Will post more in a couple of hours.
